Kualoa Ranch Experience Tours in Kaneohe, Oahu HI

Kualoa is a family-owned enterprise with a mission to be stewards of this special land. We do this by preserving, protecting and enhancing Hawaii’s natural beauty and culture, while developing recreational and agricultural enterprises compatible with the environment. We care about and wish to communicate our concern and reverence for our natural environment, the unique Hawaiian culture and the sacred history of Kualoa Ranch.

Established in 1850, Kualoa is a 4,000-acre working cattle ranch, spread from the steep mountain cliffs to the sparkling sea. Located on the northeastern side of Oahu in the Hawaiian countryside, it is 45 minutes from Honolulu. The ranch terrain varies from dense rainforest to broad open valleys and from beautiful white sand beaches to verdant cliff faces. It is truly a paradise for outdoor recreation with many places accessible only by horseback, on an all-terrain vehicle, or by hiking.

If the views look familiar, that’s because Kualoa has been the site of many television shows and Hollywood films such as Jurassic Park, Windtalkers, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla, Tears of the Sun and 50 First Dates. TV shows including the old and new Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and LOST.

There are two major areas of the property: the northern half including Kaaawa Valley which contains most of the movie locations, and the southern half that includes Hakipuu Valley, the 800-year old Molii fishpond, and Secret Island.

Kualoa is one of the most historically significant destinations on Oahu, and in ancient times, one of the most sacred places on the island. Come experience the aloha and special sense of ohana (family) that Kualoa employees share.

Majestic Circle Island in Honolulu HI

As you set off for Oahu’s South Shore and the familiar outline of Diamond Head, enjoy stories and island history shared by your guide enhancing each stop and view: the tropical fish and reefs of Hanauma Bay; famous Halona Blowhole; scenic Sandy Beach; and spectacular Makapu’u Lookout on the island’s southeastern tip.

As you head towards Oahu’s Ko’olau Mountain Range, views from the windswept Nu'uanu Pali Lookout are picturesque as your guide brings to life tales of ancient battles fought there. You'll also visit the peaceful, serene grounds of the Byodo-In Buddhist Temple, nestled in a green gem of a valley. Ringing the temple’s Peace Bell is said to ensure happiness and a long life.

Dropping down to Oahu’s North Shore, quaint towns and a laid-back local scene provide the backdrop to world famous surfing beaches – Banzai Pipeline, Sunset and Waimea Bay. The famous Waimea Falls lays behind lush rainforest, where you stroll among the thousands of varieties of exotic plants, unique species of Hawaiian birds, and archeological sites of Oahu’s historic Waimea Valley. This stop is a favorite because of “the beautiful scenery the valley has to offer and the peaceful sounds of birds and water flowing from the falls.”

Dole Plantation provides the day’s final stop on this ultimate Oahu Circle Island Tour. A cool frozen pineapple whip or sweet fresh pineapple – a real “Taste of Hawaii” – are hard to resist as you pick up a souvenir or two.

Pearl Harbor Tours

Stars & Stripes in Honolulu, Oahu HI

This tour is moving in more ways than one. Explore and honor three historic sites that shaped the outcome of World War II in this, our Stars & Stripes tour. From the moment you board the tour bus, you’ll hear interesting facts about WWII, and its devastating effects.

You’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial where the United States was catapulted into WWII and its fight in the Pacific began. At the Visitor Center, explore the shoreline exhibits as you await a short boat ride to the resting place of the USS Arizona. You’ll arrive at the Memorial overlooks the sunken battleship; which will move you to honor and pay respects to the hundreds of Americans entombed.

Next, enjoy a tour of the Battleship Missouri. Knowledgeable guides provide colorful stories about the ship’s history and life at sea during a 35-minute guided tour. Stand where General Douglas MacArthur stood when he accepted the Instrument of Surrender that would end WWII; discover the thrilling details of the kamikaze attack on the Missouri; stand in the shadows of the 16-inch guns that pummeled Inchon, Korea; and see where 28 Tomahawk missiles were launched during the Gulf War.

Later, honor the freedoms bestowed upon us by all those who bravely served our country since WWI at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. You’ll be moved not only by the sweeping views of downtown Honolulu but also by the narrated drive through the national Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Before heading back into Waikiki, you’ll drive through historic Honolulu to see Hawaii State Capitol and Honolulu City Hall, Iolani Palace and King Kamehameha Statue, and Kawaiahao Church.

Diamond Head State Monument Tours in Honolulu HI

Diamond Head (Le‘ahi) crater, one of Hawaii’s most recognizable landmarks, was formed about 300,000 years ago after a single eruption sent ash and fine particles into the air. These materials cemented together to form the rock that makes up the crater. The trail to the summit of Diamond Head was built in 1908 as part of Oahu’s coastal defense system.

Today, Diamond Head State Monument is Oahu's third largest visitor attraction, with over 900,000 annual hikers. For decades, visitors have hiked to the summit of Diamond Head to enjoy the incredible views of Oahu's southeastern shoreline from Koko Head to Waianae. This popular historical trail offers a memorable Hawaiian adventure for the entire family.

Diamond Head State Monument, managed by the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, is comprised of more than 475 acres of land, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater as well as the hiking trail.

The 0.8-mile hike (1.6 miles roundtrip) to the summit of Diamond Head State Monument is steep, strenuous and uneven in some areas. There is a total of 327 concrete and metal stairs along the trail. Please plan 1.5 to 2 hours for your hike. The weather inside the crater is usually hot. Sturdy walking shoes, water, hats, and sunscreen are recommended.
