Great show. The worst part is the wait to get in and seated. You have to go early and wait in line. Food and drinks were good!

"Luau on Maui"

Overall it was a pleasant luau. The food was better than we expected from the reviews we had read. The presentation could’ve been a little bit longer. I think a lot of time was spent on just waiting around. We went for our two-year-old to experience Hawaiian culture as she loves musical productions and she seemed to enjoy it.

"Great show, only medium food"

This was the first Luau we joined. It was all in all a nice experience. The show was really great. Especially the male dancers seemed to have fun. The female dancers seemed more reserved. But the dancing was very good. The food was unfortunately not great. The drinks were ok but the hot tea was brewed chlorine water and undrinkable. (Many people went for tea as the night was much more chilly than expected.) All in all, I would not really recommend this Luau if there is a chance to see another one.

We attended this Lu'au during our first visit to Maui. It was our first Lu'au and something I wanted to do for a long time. All of the other reviewers who state that this is a "cattle call" operation are spot on. The "VIP" seating in the "first row" is a clear misrepresentation. The first row actually refers to the first table row, which is 10 or 12 seats deep. So we sat in the middle, but paid for first row seating. Also, the food...well, that was a certain let down. The pork was so dry, it was difficult to swallow. The food is served buffet style, so there is a constant flow of people walking about. The place never settles down. But...the food...mediocre cafeteria level food at best. Nothing stood out and it definitely tasted mass produced. The vegetables in the rice were frozen, not fresh, and the whole meal was just troth for the masses. The drinks are watered down, bottom shelf mixed drinks...served in plastic cups, airplane style. Our server appeared to have had a bad day...she could not bring herself to smile, no matter how much we tried. The show itself was mostly about sales pitches for merchandise (they do a "fashion show" and then strongly encourage that you get the wraps and such from their merchandise stand outside). It was embarrassing...even the people at our table were appalled. The dancers do their routine with little passion. The fire dance lasted about 3 minutes and consisted of two or three dancers twirling torches. The show is called "Drums of the Pacific" but they actually only have one dance involving one drum...So...with that, it was in no way what we expected and we fell like we paid Madison Square Garden prices for a community theater presentation. If you are looking to attend a Lu'au...please take your money elsewhere. Luckily, we booked our event through our hotel, the Ritz Carlton, who stood behind their brand and refunded us our money immediately with apologies. I was told that the Old Lahaina Lu'au or the Lu'au at the Andez Resort are supposed to be wonderful...

"Awful food!"

I would have guessed that a lu'au would have fabulous food, but the food that was served on New Year's Eve was mediocre at best. Their buffet included prime rib, but it turned out to be very thin slices of roast beef, more like shoe leather. And come to think of it, I'm not sure that I saw all of the buffet items that they advertised. They had a large dessert bar, but nothing there was worth the calories. They were like the strange pre-made items that you find on a Chinese buffet. While the drinks were free-flowing, they were quite tasteless. Even the Shirley Temple was awful. That all said about the food, the entertainment was quite good. We paid approximately $200 for our tickets. They were ultimately worth less than $100 in my opinion.
