"Magic of Polynesia at Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort"

It was a last-minute decision of ours to see this show, as we had a spare evening. What a great decision we made! It is an amazing show and John Hirokawa is an excellent illusionist, as well as putting together a wonderful show. As well as his act, there were Polynesian dancers and a stunning fire act It's suitable for families, has humour as well as great magic acts and various types of Polynesian dancing. Well worth seeing.

Tip: People can either book for dinner & the show or just for the show. We elected to forgo dinner + we had heard that dinner was nothing special.

We were sold this through the concierge. We both had the filet. It was large but really not that tasty. Veggies and potato not very good either. The show was fun. I would recommend just doing the show and skip the food.

"John Hirokawa..You're Still Amazing After 25 Years!!"

The first time I ever saw The Magic of Polynesia was in 1993 after I graduated from high school. Back then, I thought this show was phenomenal and super excited to see that its only been improved upon as the years went by.. So fast forward 25 years and I'm here with my husband and 2 small kids. They absolutely loved the show! John (the magician) was very interactive with the audience with his tricks and we really loved it. He was funny and his staff of Polynesian dancers were awesome. Wait staff was super friendly as well. We didnt purchase the package with the dinner so cant comment on that but if you want to try a drink while there, try their amazing lava flows!! They are the best! Great entertainment for all ages, tickets were priced reasonably, drinks were amazing...Nothing but good things to say about this venue so if you're looking for a great night of entertainment while in Waikiki...Make this show top on your list! ;)

I saw this show again last night with two friends both of whom had never seen this before but it was my third visit over several years. The illusions that John performs are nothing short of spsctacular. Last night I paid for the standard dinner package which was $86 and consisted of an entree of salad, chicken or pork with vegetables as a main and chocolate cake for desserts. A photo is taken when you enter the showroon which can be purchazed for $25. The show goes for approximately an hour and is finished by 8.30pm. the dancers are outside for photographs after the show.

This was a really great show. Learning about their customs and watching how much love and genuine love it is, that goes into these traditions and get carried down from generation to generation is just beautiful. We loved this place.
