from Island Breeze Lu'au
Winner of the "Best of West Hawaii" award which was first presented in 2000, the Island Breeze Luau at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is a favorite of kama'aina (local residents), visitors and travel professionals.

Each evening guests are invited to join in a cultural experience that shouldn't be missed. The lu'au is well known for its delicious food and its amazing Polynesian production, and its beautiful unique location. It is held on the beachfront of historic Kamakahonu Bay and Ahu Ena, Kamehameha the Great's former estate in Kailua-Kona. Guests enjoy a backdrop of passing fishing boats, paddlers in outrigger canoes, and the lights of Kona and Mount Hualalai.

Considered a "Royal Hawaiian Experience", the lu'au features a 22 dish buffet, open bar, Polynesian arts & crafts demonstrations, and the Royal Court procession. Highlighting the evening is the spectacular Polynesian Revue. Where authenticity and the skills of the Island Breeze Ohana, is matched only by the spirit of aloha they share with the audience. All of this creates a very special cultural experience and memories that will last a lifetime.

The Island Breeze show is filled with excitement, aloha and 'ohana, (love and family). From the Fijian and Maori dances of war to the gracefulness of our Hawaiian hula hands, we bring you and your family a fun-filled evening. Our daring Samoan Fire knife dancer highlights your experience with an astonishing demonstration of bravery and skill!

Had the pleasure of partaking in the Island Breeze luau last Sunday with my brother and friend, it was our first luau but definitely set the standard high (recommend buying tickets online for discounted prices). Food was phenomenal and the entertainment was top-notch, truthfully didn't expect that level of variety and superior dancing skill& musicianship to be displayed over such a long duration, I one hundred percent feel like got my money's worth and we were all glad to have chose Island Breeze over the Royal Kona! Hospitality and service were great and extremely attentive, all smiles and positive energy. Thanks to Uncle Peni and his fellow staff for such an excellent and memorable night during our stay in paradise!

"A night out in Kona"

First visit to a Hawaiian luau. Entertaining enough evening but seemed very touristy. Food was ok and plentiful and drinks flowed. Bar staff made a great G&T. Way to much queuing in evening heat. As a Kiwi watching the aotearoa portion of the show was cringe worthy but none the less a pleasant enough evening but a second visit is highly unlikely.

"First Time at a Luau - Wonderful"

It our first experience to a Luau and we thought it was exceptional. The food was fresh - delicious - especially the Kona Coffee chicken. The pork was moist and tender from the EMU. The entertainment was unexpectedly good and kept my attention throughout. They represented several Polynesian islands in song and dance. The Samoan fire dancer was really fantastic - the emcee did a great job as well.

"Great fun for the entire family"

This was our last big activity during our 10 day stay in Kona. The luau was great fun. We have two children ages 5 and 7 and this may have been their favorite activity and we had a lot of activities and fun during our stay. The entire event is actually quite long but it does not feel that long. The kids did great and they were very engaged and excited with the food and the dancing and all of the activities. They usually go to bed at sun down but they were fine staying up a bit late. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Food was great, the drinks were great, and the entertainment was great. I would actually go at the time they recommend if you want to participate in all the pre meal activities. We missed a little bit of those and that was kind of a bummer. Seeing the pig come out of the ground was my favorite (I like to eat) but the rest of family enjoyed the dancing the most.
