"True Hawaiian Experience!"
August, 2018 NEW
This was my second time to the Diamond Head Luau and it was even better than the first! The performance is always so fun and educational but the food this time around was exceptional! I loved the buffet style. You can try a bit of everything and it was all so flavorful. A great selection of cocktails too. The atmosphere, the people, nothing is ever too difficult for the crew. Loved it. And I'd even go back for a third.

Tip: Be curious. There are a few activities around the seating area that you can participate in prior to the show. Lei making, play a ukelele etc. but can be easily missed if not pointed out to you. Explore to see what else you can experience :)

"Great experience in the shadow of Diamond Head"
July, 2018 NEW
Our party of four had a great time at the Luau. The location was a short trip from our Waikiki Beach hotel. The venue was great--just a few steps from the beach. We all enjoyed the farm to table food. The entertainment was fun and educational. We were not traveling with children but the kids in attendance had a great time with the pre-show activities. Great food, great entertainment, great location.

The food is delicious. The way they handle the drink tickets with up sell is a little annoying.

"Pleasant Experience"
May, 2018
This was our second luau and first one in Oahu. I chose this luau because of the farm to table menu, the location and the fact that did not seem to be very crowded. Overall, the luau was a pleasant experience: great dinner food, three free alcoholic drinks per person (one mai tai only), nice entertainment, nice location by the sea, the fact that the luau takes place at the Waikiki aquarium gives you the opportunity to visit the aquarium which is small and has a large amount of fish species in very well kept environments for the fish (I'd not go to an aquarium that holds dolphins or other larger animals because I do not support captivity). On the other hand, they only offered two (tiny and not so good) dessert options, the interactive activities offered, such as the lei crafting activity, seemed kind of rushed and done without much enthusiasm. Besides, the welcome mai tai, they give you two passes for alcoholic drinks but they do not tell you that there's only two types of drinks you can ask for as the two 'included' options, i.e. rum and coke and a coconut vodka/pineapple other. All the other drinks, including mai tais, are $3 extra in cash. We did not know and did not bring cash with us and the guy at the bar was a little rude because of it...But, we are not big drinkers so it worked okay. They have to improve the food catering service...the wait is too long and the long line quite unacceptable for an over $150 meal with entertainment. Overall, a good experience but there's always room for improvement. A last pro, free on-site parking if you arrive early..;)

"Glad we chose this Luau!"

Although slightly more pricey than the other Luaus, this one was definitely worth it. All tickets are VIP seating and it felt like a really intimate show. We really appreciated the organiser’s effort to provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly service. The food was all farm to table and locally sourced (not to mention delicious!!) and all of the cutlery and plates were biodegradable - even the pineapple cocktail glasses! The only negative is that we all needed disposable plastic emergency ponchos as the rain didn’t hold off for us. I’m sure they will find a more sustainable solution to this soon though? The Luau was conveniently located walking distance from Waikiki and if it didn’t already sound good enough, you have the opportunity to walk around Waikiki Aquarium before the show. Finally, if you go on Friday night you can see the free fireworks and sunset across Waikiki beach after the show. Would highly recommend.

We went to a wedding on the North Shore and a couple days later there was a Luau booked at Diamond Head with about 36 attending. It was very well run with great entertainment, food and fun. I would recommend this Luau but we did not get a chance to go through the aquarium as the advertising indicated (you were given about 20 mins once the doors opened). Still a positive experience and a great setting overlooking Waikiki beach.

"Wonderful Luau conveniently located right in Waikiki"

We were looking for a Luau that didn't require an excursion or long trip to attend, and found this gem right in Waikiki, on the grounds of the Aquarium. The host was ah-mazing. Funny, personable, and entertaining. The food was delicious. And of course, what can I say about the show, except WOW! I would definitely recommend it, and we hope see it again on another trip.

"Our absolute favorite of 4 Luau's"

This was our first visit to Diamond Head Luau but I am comparing it to our luaus at Polynesian cultural center (lasts late), Chiefs, & Paradise Cove (2nd fav- have been 3 times). So many things to love, the smaller crowd means you are Much closer to the show. We didn't have as much time tied up getting to and from as it was much closer than the other 3. If the walk worries you we did notice there is a bus stop right out front of the Aquarium site and buses 14, 19,20 &22 stop there. But a neat walk and you just stay right along the beach front heading towards Diamond Head, there are signs for the Aquarium. Check in started right at 5 and we lined up once we had our wrist bands, enjoyed the little aquarium, entry is at 5:20. Favorite points are the super fun staff and the array of things to experience from the poi balls, frond weaving, ukulele, 4 other instruments, hula class and the BEST food of Any of the Luaus we have ever attended. None of the others even came close. Also because they limit the number of guests, the show is much closer, and those 2 young fire dancers they have are beyond belief. The only one we haven't tried is Germaines but after this one, we won't consider anywhere else. Perfect evening for us. They do take a picture when you arrive but there is no hard push or upsells, plus you can take pictures with the entertainers at the end of the night with your own cameras, I can't find a single thing to fault. Okay, maybe I wished for a tiny sweet but my waistline thanks you! Best Meal Ever.

We were stay up the other end but enjoyed the walk to and from. We found the food was really nice and plenty to be had. The show was fantastic and very entertaining. Would definitely recommend.
