We love this resort. It's beautiful. The room were just remodeled. They are well appointed and nicely furnished. We had a wonderful prime rib dinner in our patio tonight. We love the Bbqs and community kitchen. We especially love our bartender Keith and the tiki bar

I actually stayed at the Molokai tower in a timeshare that I rented from someone else. First off let me say that the place was not BAD (I really want to give it 2.5 stars, but i'm giving the 3 instead of 2 because it was not BAD), but it really was not vacation-like. It was just a place to stay. We had an ocean view, and we stayed during the 2nd week of August 2016, and they were doing lots of construction. In fact, they started tearing out the main big pool after our first days there. The way it is laid out is very cumbersome to navigate. Elevators were pretty far from our room, and there was no easy way down to the beach. The atrium was as bare bones as you can get. No decor whatsoever. Our room: The furnishings were dated but in good condition. The lanai was a big let down. Very narrow with a solid rail and carpet in the floor. There was not enough room to have a meal on out there. One of my favorite things to do is to have a drink or eat out on the lanai and take in the view. This was not a pleasant lanai. The pools were actually nicely heated, which is not common in my experience. I often find very cold pools at tropical resorts. It's a shame they started tearing out the pool the next day. The valet was very good. We did not have to wait long for our car, and the attendants were always very friendly. The front desk people were not friendly or helpful. As I had mentioned, I had rented someone's timeshare week, and the reservation I received directly from Marriott stated that there were $0 due for any taxes and/or resort fees (already paid) and Valet parking would be $19/day. However, when we checked out, in addition to the $19/day parking which we were prepared for, we were also charged $11 a day for taxes and resort fees. When I called the front desk to ask about it I was told that there was no way to get out of it. I explained I had a confirmation from them showing I was fully paid and owed nothing on that, but they refused to remove the charge. Also, nothing on the check-in at the desk had disclosed that they were going to put any of those charges on my card. Thankfully, my credit card company treats its customers better than this Marriott does and I was able to dispute the charge and get a refund on it. The other reason I marked this stay down has to do with them entering our room. We received a notice that they needed to come into our room on a particular day. We made sure everything was safely put away that day, expecting them to come in while we were out. We never saw a notice or anything when we returned showing if they had been in. The next day, to our surprise, we returned to find someone in our room working on the TV. I was very upset, since this was not the day they had said someone would be there. Like I said, this place was not BAD, but that takes into account that we got the week for only $2500. I would NOT stay here again. It was not the kind of hospitality or plush environment I'm used to at a resort. I also will probably steer clear of Marriotts in general. I still absolutely enjoyed my stay on Maui, and I will be coming back again and again. I just won't be staying here.

First, Maui is beautiful & our time on the island was wonderful. We stayed on the 8th floor, Lahina Tower, street side 1 bedroom, 2 baths with kitchenette. We had a wrap around balcony seating but were above the area where deliveries are made, garbage is collected, etc...so noisy we really couldn't enjoy the balcony at all The space is pleasant enough but one thing I couldn't get past was how unclean it was. Kitchenette backsplash, walls near light switches, stains on carpet. A gentleman in sales told us he thought this section of the place had just been redone, hard to believe. Anyway, once I did some cleaning & put all in its place for the week, iit was fine. The tub/shower units are old school so those with balance challenges it may be difficult to maneuver. The inner core of the tower has a very institutional feel. It is open air but perhaps some decorative wall murals, tiles or something to cheer this space up would give a better first impression. All needs are covered here & the staff is very pleasant. Also, I have to say how thankful we were to at least have gotten an end unit, we feel it was most likely larger & had two sides of outdoor balcony space.

What a beautiful place. We are in a 1 bedroom ocean view room on the 2nd floor of the main bldg overlooking the pool and the ocean. The staff is here to take care of all your needs and always with a smile. Everything is well kept. Our room does not have a kitchen but does have a microwave, refrigerator, plates, cups and silverware. We do have to use the bathroom sink to wash out dishes. Kinda weird but okay. Would def recommend staying here.
