For starters, you’ll be overlooking Kamaole Beach Park III, one of the best swimming beaches on Maui, surrounded by lush lawns and tropical gardens. Walk among the fish ponds, fountains and waterfalls to the gentle surf. Take the kids to the play area or the Kamaole Sands wading pool. Work your muscles on the tennis courts, then loosen them up in the jet spa. Meet up with your neighbors for cocktails and a barbeque. Later, head back to your suite where you’ll appreciate all the conveniences of home: a fully-equipped kitchen, private lanai, high-speed Internet, color cable TV, air conditioning, and plenty of room to spread out. And if there’s something you can’t find, just ask.

The condos at Kamaole Sands are indeed beautiful and comfortable, but they are also a lot of fun. "2 bed, 2 bath, 2nd floor unit"

We stayed at kamaole sands for 2 weeks with 2 families with toddlers and a couple of bachelors. The location can't be beat. Walking distance to a nice beach, places to eat, and some shops. Our unit was definitely used but still in good condition. We overlooked the pool which can be quite loud until 10pm when it closes. The staff is very nice and helpful when needed. Overall we had a great expirence at kamaole sands and we will recommend to friends looking to stay in the area.

"Terrible hotel. Don't stay here"

We booked this hotel for last week of January. Our room was a one bedroom. Bathroom doorways were so narrow my limited mobility husband could barely use them. We asked for a different room with ADS compatibility. They offered nothing. In fact they told us none of the rooms had been rehabbed for compatibility which is against the law. They also would not help us find a room elsewhere and would not refund our 'extra Fed's even though we only stayed two nights instead of 8. We were stuck finding a room in our own. Front desk staff argued with us and did not return calls. Kitchen was poorly set up. No coffee provided, no housecleaning.

This is the fourth time I have stayed at Kamaole Sands. The condos vary by view, updating, and amenities. This year we had a 4th floor unit in building 8. It has a partial ocean view and I was able to see whales every morning. The Kam III beach is a short walk. Tennis courts are great. Plenty to do in the immediate area, and very easy to get around. Wailea beaches are nearby. I'll be staying there again next year. Lots of families - so if you're bothered by kids, beware.

"Unit 4-209 is terrible"

The location is great, it's close to the beach and shops. It can be great if you get a renovated unit and it looks like many people like it, but we were unlucky and had to move early because of unlivable conditions. My recommendation is to research about your unit beforehand. We got unit 4-209 which had multiple problems and was in terrible condition. It was very dark and looked like it wasn't updated in years. Also, given the amount of problems with the unit I doubt it was checked and cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Some of the problems in the unit: - broken doors in bedroom closet, - broken door in laundry, - dishwasher falling out of its place when slid out, - kitchen air vent not working (heat and smell from cooking go to the living room), - there were long nails (3" at least) at floor level in kitchen which could easily be hit with feet but we were lucky to notice them, - a board under the kitchen countertop was not attached and revealed a water heat (I think) with some wires - a disaster waiting to happen to my 2 year old constantly poking around, - constant sewerage smell in one of the bathrooms (we stopped using it at all to avoid opening the door). We informed management about these problems, they fixed some of them. When asked to change the unit I was told they don't have anything open and we decided to move to a different place. Stuff was courteous enough not to make this situation worse and agreed to reimburse the cleaning fee and the rest of the stay.

Our condo was on the 4th floor all the way in the back of the back of the property. We had no view to speak of (and no neighbors either!) but we would definitely go back. Each house is decorated according to the owner however the layout of our two bedroom condo was perfect. Wife and my bedroom was loft style over the living room with kids room - we have two ages 4 and 9 - by the door. Their window was by the entrance where people walk so depending on where your condo is that could be a real issue but for us it wasn't because nobody ever walked by our place. The place is a bit old, circa early 1980s, but is maintained well. The pool is big and well-loved (ha!) but why do you want to swim in a pool when you're across the street from Kam3?!!! The BEACH AT KAM3 is one of the best we visited on Maui and we were there for two weeks and we went to a bunch. We had great snorkeling from the left side, there's a little cove with a nice reef, where we saw two cuttlefish (or squid equivalent) which were the highlight of our snorkeling adventures. We also swam with a green sea turtle there. The waves on the main beach area are small but perfect for our little guy. It got a bit crowded however but its not like you have to park the car!!! Ask yourself what you REALLY want in a place to stay while you're in Maui. If you're like us, we spent so little time in our condo that ultimately what we wanted most from it was convenience and having a GREAT beach right across the street that we could roll out of the bed in the morning and not worry if we forgot something was one of the best part of our trip. 4 stars. Lose 1 star b/c it is a little tired and the bedroom window thing.
