The energy and vibe of the Surfjack simply makes you smile! Love the vintage feels. The goodies in the room, who can complain about dried mango, popcorn, and cookies? However, it is the staff that keeps me returning. I frequent hotels in Waikiki EVERY week for business. This has been my go to. I have the option of choosing any hotel, and from time to time I try to explore what others have to offer. Each time I have I think, "should've just stayed at Surfjack." Though I wish it has a hot tub and more sun in the pool area - it's the staff, particularly Sy, that keeps me coming back. It's a small boutique hotel that appreciates it's guest and pays attention to detail. For people living out of a suitcase, it's a home away from home.

Only stayed one night but excellent location and fantastic service. Being able to check in and go straight to our room at 10 am was an added bonus. Cookies & water on our arrival was greatly appreciated. Loved the pool but a little too cold for me. Good size rooms and a lovely vibe. Would definitely stay again

"Great boutique hotel/motel, cool vibe"

We really enjoyed our stay at the Surfjack. We had a bungalow room that looked away from the pool. The room was quiet and small with two Queen beds. It did feel a little dark at times. The furnishings are Instagram worthy as other reviews have mentioned. The pool was a great centre piece and almost on the cold side at times. If you like a hotel to relax in communal spaces then this is the place for you. The staff make the Surfjack, they are warm and accommodating at all times. I would recommend anyone to stay here although people with children may want to be closer to the beach. Only one thing I would change is the painted mural by the elevators. The art work is a little unresolved and in places has been damaged by suitcases?.....it is the only piece of styling in the whole establishment that looks out of place. Perhaps wallpapering with the birds of paradise in the restrooms could be an idea? Thanks

16 reviews 5.0 star rating 1/19/2018 BEST BOUTIQUE HOTEL EVER. Waikiki is a hot crowded touristy mess and this affordable boutique hotel is the antidote. BEST OF ALL are the staff and hospitality. Warm welcoming friendly Sai who works front desk/valet is the best. Everyone else, just as awesome and attentive and personable. During this stay, we asked for a late check out and when we explained that our flight wasn't until 7:30 PM, they offered us a wonderful one-bedroom suite as a hospitality room to use until we depart. This is way cool and even cooler is that my other stays here have been just as comfy and delightful. Also very important, the mattresses are firm, the pillows plump, and the bedding crisp and comfy. The hip design is 60's and the look from wallpaper to furniture delivers kitsch without being gauche. They have adults-only pool hours and an exciting list of nightly events ranging from wine tastings to bossa nova to print block workshops. There's plenty of little luxuries that come with one's stay including nice soaps, free bottled water, great lighting and window dressings, etc. This place is super special.
