from Rainbow Kayak Tours of Wailua River - Kauai
There is a reason Kauai is considered the garden isle. While there are many ways to explore this incredible give of natural beauty, kayaking offers a special opportunity to experience the many facets of this island paradise in one fun adventure.

Paddle the majestic Wailua River, the original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area. After paddling past numerous Heiaus along the cliff lines of the Wailua, you will reach Kamokila village, a replica of an ancient Hawaiian village and traditionally a sacred fishing and farming area. Soon you will come to the North Fork where you will paddle leisurely through the Garden Isle's most beautiful jungle river until you come to the trailhead for Secret Falls. Enjoy a moderate hike through Kauai rainforest to an enchanting waterfall, which descends 120' into a natural pool surrounded by rocks and vegetation. Inclement weather rarely stops this fantastic journey!

Tour times: 7:00 am & 12:30 pm. The 4.5 hour trip includes snacks, lunch and bottled water.

Easy, laid back tour. Matt did an exceptional job leading our group and giving local knowledge from history to vegetation, to facts. Highly recommend this tour as it is a great way to explore the river.

Celebrated my 60th birthday kayaking down the Wailua river and hiking back to Secret Falls... awesome adventure!! Small group so it was easy to hang close to hear the interesting info that our guide Matt had to share with us. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! Hiking to Secret Falls was an adventure all on its own...but we got it all in one trip! The lunch was very tasty as was the fresh pineapple treat at the falls. Highly recommend this trip!!

Great tour and staff, the kayaking is great for the scenery and easy water. The trail can be a little muddy at times. I would suggest a morning tour as the waterfall area can get really busy later in the day..
