"Pearl Harbor Remembered A"

We went on the "Pearl Harbor Remembered A" tour. Our guide (and driver) was Byron. The tour was generally well organized. There was a small hiccup with the Pearl Harbor tickets, which resulted in us visiting the Missouri before Pearl Harbor -- but Byron was apologetic, and the revised timings ended up working well (as the Missouri wasn't at all crowded when we saw it). The bus was clean. Byron himself was friendly and engaging, with many anecdotes. Make sure you have breakfast (and coffee!) before departing, as you may not otherwise get a chance to eat or drink before 11am or so. And bring water and sunscreen with you. (You'll have to check any bags in before visiting Pearl Harbor, and won't get them back until after you've seen the Missouri, so try to plan around this.) The tour itinerary is excellent -- everything was worth seeing. We would recommend it to others.

Our tour guide Pualani made the trip wonderful. She treated us all like visiting family to the island and gave us the history of the people and the island along with pointing out various key items in the tour. The bus was clean and comfortable and worth the expense. The only drawback was not having enough time to ride the train on the visit to the dole plantation but not a deal breaker.

Our Hawaiian born guide with the last name of O'Brian was the best guide I've ever had. On time, organized, prepared, immediately learned our names and details.....He took us of the trip around town and then to Punch Bowl, Pearl Harbor and the Missouri. His vehicle was clean and safe...his sense of humor was great and his use of recorded sound--"taps" and a 21 gun salute while at Punch Bowl, FDR's Day of Infamy speech, etc where perfectly timed and emotionally powerful, giving a fuller understanding and impact of where we were and the place in history. He gave advice for best photography while on the Arizona tour, etc. HIGHLY recommend this company and Mr. O'Brian!!!!!!

The tour was as I expected. Although half the trip I would have preferred doing other things, perhaps spending more time in the nicer areas. For the amount you're paying, you might as well just choose the areas you want to go to and do it on your own. You stop at each area for about 10-15 mins, which is normal since you have so much to go see. But, lots of places like let's say the temple, was not worth staying for as long as we did. Hanauma and Halona on the other hand, were gorgeous, I would just do a full day there. Nothing against the tour itself though. The driver was friendly and knowledgeable and everything was punctual and as directed. The bus was normal, nothing crazy, AC was very strong ( i was freezing) and no wifi, but i knew that fact. The one part i was truly disappointed about was lunch time stop at the shrimp truck. I had such high expectations. Let me tell you, don't be fooled, that food was nonesense!! But all the tours stop here, so i warn you! I also strongly suggest to bypass the whole pineapple Dole part. Waste of time, just a place to get people to spend money and buy pineapple ice cream. The rest was cool to see but again, i don't think i'll ever do a tour island anywhere again. But that's me, I had other goals. I'm sure other people would like it if that's their goal.

Our tour guide was great. The bus however had an AC that did not work very well. It was so hot on the bus that we left half way through the tour...disappointing!
