We were a party of 12 people and the service was impeccable. Great entertainment with live jazz music. We took a photo with the captain. From boarding to disembarking the staff made us feel special. Definitely a "Must do" when in Honolulu.

"A Dinner Cruise in the Honolulu Harbour area"
March, 2015
My wife and I went out on a dinner cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu on February 27, 2015. The experience was just great. We booked the five star dinner cruise in order to have top of the line service and food and we were not disappointed.

From the time we boarded we were treated like VIP's and the young man who was to serve us throughout the evening greeted us by name as we had canapés and a drink on the back deck. He showed us to our table and was attentive at the end of the night as he was at the beginning.

Each meal course was served at exactly the right time and presentation was excellent. The food was delicious as were the drinks.

We were entertained throughout the evening by a wonderful piano musician who later joined by a saxophonist, then a singer. During the mid point of our meal we had traditional hula dancers providing an excellent show.

Overall the evening was great success in all areas. My wife and I loved it and would not fail to recommend this to anyone who should be visiting Honolulu as a "must attend event".

Tip: The lower decks seem to have a livlier brand of music with more of a party atmosphere. As we went out on the open deck we could hear their music and wondered what it would be like there. Next time we'll try that..

"Bad food!"

On the actual day of our anniversary, my wife and I went on this cruise thinking what everybody else thought due to the advertisement. We were expecting steak and crab legs, a good view, and a couple of drinks. We got the view at least, but the food was terrible and the drinks were weak. Our "sirlion" had gravy on it. It maybe because I'm from texas, but never do that to a steak. My crab legs were small and tasted off. I didn't even finish them. I ordered a margarita, thinking that a $10 drink would be stronger than the free one. I was wrong. In short, I would not recommend this cruise to anyone. It's a tourist trap.

"_______ Trapped In Paradise"

We got the bottom level steak and crab and dinner show. It came with salad, sides , steak , 2 servings of crab legs , dessert, coffee and one alcoholic beverage. The show wasn't bad just too many costume changes. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Steak came borderline bloody if you want it cooked you better alert somebody immediately. The Staff managed to get my wife a cooked one. Boat returned 15 minutes early. Don't forget to get parking validated at check in or you'll pay $30 instead of $4 on exit. Confused patrons coming out of parking lot cause 20+ minute traffic jam trying to use self service machines. They have 2 levels pricier than this one. Let the buyer beware. For $240 a couple Boat ride, Dinner, Drinks Show, Parking & Tip. Sometimes you got to get a little TOURIST trapped in paradise. Shout out to tour bus driver supervisor that drove me back to my car to get the parking ticket for validation!

"Great food but that's all"

Because of the number of people that have to be fed, the meal lasted over an hour. This meant you have to sit down right away and when the meal is finished so is the sunset and little to see other then the lights of Waikiki. Entertainment just OK. Kind of reminded me of a feeding lot, but a good feeding lot.

"All you can eat crab legs NOT!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed June 16, 2018 NEW
We took the Star of Honolulu for all you can eat crab legs and sunset cruise. Well, it not all you can eat. By the time the server came back to our table he asked if we wanted 3 or 6 legs. We had six and that was the last time he saw him before heading back to the pier. However, we did get some good shots of the sunset...
