We were a party of 12 people and the service was impeccable. Great entertainment with live jazz music. We took a photo with the captain. From boarding to disembarking the staff made us feel special. Definitely a "Must do" when in Honolulu.

"A Dinner Cruise in the Honolulu Harbour area"
March, 2015
My wife and I went out on a dinner cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu on February 27, 2015. The experience was just great. We booked the five star dinner cruise in order to have top of the line service and food and we were not disappointed.

From the time we boarded we were treated like VIP's and the young man who was to serve us throughout the evening greeted us by name as we had canapés and a drink on the back deck. He showed us to our table and was attentive at the end of the night as he was at the beginning.

Each meal course was served at exactly the right time and presentation was excellent. The food was delicious as were the drinks.

We were entertained throughout the evening by a wonderful piano musician who later joined by a saxophonist, then a singer. During the mid point of our meal we had traditional hula dancers providing an excellent show.

Overall the evening was great success in all areas. My wife and I loved it and would not fail to recommend this to anyone who should be visiting Honolulu as a "must attend event".
Tip: The lower decks seem to have a livlier brand of music with more of a party atmosphere. As we went out on the open deck we could hear their music and wondered what it would be like there. Next time we'll try that..

Our server, Shareef gave us such an excellent service in 3 Star. He was very attentive. I would visit the Star again and would request him as my server. The management team is also amazing. Freddy, Fine, and Cecilia would constantly go to tables and see of everything are fine for the guests. The food was great. I enjoyed eating the lobster, it was fun cracking! I saw some servers cracking for their guests, really nice because some people had trouble at the claws. The shows are amazing! The haka gave me chills!!

My Mom always saw the Ship, Star of Honolulu, at dock at Aloha Tower, but has never been on the ship. I've taken her on dinner cruises before but never one here in Honolulu, since we live here. although we been on many dinner cruises all over the world, this was a different prospective of our home. Booking was also easy to do online. Needless to say, my mom enjoyed the cruise very much, as well as i. the Service was awesome! the crew were accommodating and very friendly. it was like they timed it perfectly. oddly seems as if they knew when we were ready to eat the next course or need the next round of drinks. we had the Lobster/Steak dinner, so it was awesome! Mom really liked the Lobster(whole), the steak was just how i liked it. Walking around the ship, is encouraged! The View of Waikiki and Diamond Head at sunset was breath taking beautiful! even though i live here, i don't often get the chance to see the island from this prospective. watching the sunset on West Oahu from the deck of the ship, OMG, i wish i could attach that photo to this review! on the last leg of the trip, the entertainment began. awesome hula dancers! they even got the guest to dance along. that was awesomely fun to do! i would recommend it to anyone to see it for themselves, including local islanders looking for a change of prospective. ^_^ Enjoy!

This was a vacation with my wife and daughter. Big shout out to Alexis for getting my shy daughter up on stage to dance and making the cruise so much fun for her. Alexis and the entertainment was fantastic. The food was a buffet and was very limited and needed some island spices. I know that these venues have to cater to a large and diverse audience but let us have some spice. The desserts on the other hand were great and the coffee was good. I think if we would have went with one of the more up scale dinners the food may have been better but then we would have missed out on Alexis.

"Absolutely The Best Dinner Cruise!"

We arrived about 30 min before boarding. Parking was easy in lot across the street from Pier 8 (Aloha Tower). Make sure you get your parking stub validated as parking is $30 (and reduced parking brings it down to only 8 bucks!). The little hula performance before boarding was excellent and enjoyable. Boarding was exactly at 4:45 - no delays. We were seated at our table & our welcome aboard Mai Tai was served immediately by Alexis. We met the other couples on either side of our table. We departed port at 5:30 & the entertainment started right away. Hula dancers and Maori tattooed male dancers put on a lively show, but Stratton, the multi-talented guitar/ukulele/singer & slight comedian put on a fabulous show during our 3 hr cruise. Once dinner and dessert was over we got to see the Friday night fireworks off the Waikiki shore put on by the Hilton Hawaiian Village -- no great shakes there, it was barely 5 min. of fireworks. In closing -- the Roast Beef buffet we had was spectacular. All food hot, very tasty & visually appetizing. Kudos to the onboard chef(s). Most definitely worth every dime of the $200 for the two of us...the cruise, the dinner, the entertainment...nowhere else in Waikiki can you get this experience at such a reasonable price. Enjoy!
