"Manta Snorkeling after sunset is a can't miss experience on the Big Island!"

Snorkeling with the Huge Manta Rays was an awesome experience that i would strongly recommend to anyone visiting the big island. My wife and I booked this cruise on Expedia Local Expert and we departed from Keauhou harbor about 30-45 min before sunset. The main attraction (the Manta Rays) were just a short boat ride from there. While watching the sunset on the boat, my wife and I were served a plate of sushi (CA rolls) with grapes and a little bit of ginger. The entire plate was for my wife and I and it was a perfect meal in that it was not very heavy. The sunset was beautiful and after the meal we put on our wet suit and arrived to the snorkeling area. While I agree with other reviewers that other surf boards/boats had brighter lights than the surfboard we were hanging on, this in no way impeded our trip. The manta rays were constantly doing somersaults right on our board. From what i could see, there were about 4-5 giant manta rays in our proximity and all except one approached our board. Watching a giant manta ray coming within inches of you is both very fun and very exciting! Tip: Bring an underwater camera with you, you will not regret it! I bought a cheap ($20) phone protector at my hotel's convenience store that covered my phone in a case and allowed me to take it under water and it was excellent!

"Sunset Manta Snorkel is AMAZING"

We did the Sunset Manta Snorkel and it was a top 10 experience of a lifetime! We were super lucky and it was just the two of us on the tour (can only hold up to 6 passengers anyway). We started off with a little history and sunset cruise on the boat. They provided some sushi and grapes while we watched the sunset. As soon as the sun was down, we got our wetsuits on (provided), snorkels, and masks. You basically just float horizontal in the water and hold onto the lighted surf board. Your dive master will move you wherever the manta rays are. These rays are now used to the light, so literally they were within 6 inches of our face and it was amazing. They do barrel rolls and try to eat as much plankton as possible right in front of you. Captain Randy and Dive Master Steven were AMAZING. We were in the water WAY longer than any of the other tours and it was an amazing experience. Cannot say enough good things about this tour and company.

Did the Manta Ray night snorkel, the manta's did all the hard work, we had all the fun. Really well organised, although the sizing on the wet suits went a little funny (I am NOT an XS but I managed to squeeze into it). Well worth doing

Loved watching my daughter have this amazing experience of swimming with dolphins in the open ocean. Bambi was our captain and was a wonderful host, educating and tending to us all. I highly recommend this company as the owners grew up here and have a healthy respect for the ocean and its creatures!!
