The dinner cruise crew was very very friendly. The entertainment made us feel like we were on a dinner cruise circa 1970's, from the songs to their wardrobes...it was really cool! The food was mediocre but the views were worth a million bucks!

It was very memorable fantastic and gorgeous cruise so we, our family all enjoyed it. The served foods are delicious and the music and dance was also very nice. It would be good idea to share with your important partner or people, I would suggest.

My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon in early August 2017 (this month). We read reviews for the Star of Honolulu dinner cruise and thought it sounded great. We went on the August 4th Friday night cruise with fireworks, and we were very upset. It is marketed as a upscale, fine dining, romantic dinner cruise experience and it could not be more opposite. The "champagne" toast right when you come onboard told us from the beginning that this is cheap and misleading- the champagne was non-alcoholic juice. The tables are pushed so tightly together that you feel like you are practically sitting on the laps of strangers beside you- no private conversations or romantic moments to be had. The food was disgusting- not even mediocre. The only thing I liked was the appetizer of crackers and cheese (which should tell you a lot), yet we paid $360 for this cruise (including taxes and transportation). The steak that was served was probably the worst I have ever had- very tough, over-seasoned, and I spit out my first bite into my napkin and didn't touch the rest. The dessert was a mango mouse item that tasted fake and just not good. This cruise included 2 alcoholic beverages (not even open bar) and they were really just ok- the alcohol selection was limited to low rate liquors anyway so I could not order what I wanted. The only redeeming quality was that our server was nice and friendly, and the entertainment (hula dancers, etc) were good. However, we were literally counting down the minutes until the cruise was over and we could get off of that boat. It also felt like a huge tourist trap, with tons of families and children (again not at all a romantic cruise for couples on their honeymoon). In the end, I would not be so harsh in my review had it not been for a special occasion that we were celebrating. This awful experience wasted one of our precious nights in Oahu and over $300 that we could have spent at one of the many wonderful restaurants in the area. Instead, we were trapped on a boat (we even joked about jumping overboard to end our terrible night) with bad company and disgusting food for hours on end paying a very high price. Note to Star of Honolulu- please advertise truthfully so others know what they are getting and think of reducing prices for the quality of food that you are serving. Honestly, I've had better quality food at fast food establishments in combo meals. Additionally, we did complain via our hotel concierge and received a 25% refund which we do appreciate however our time can unfortunately not be refunded.

The cruise was awesome. The food and staff were excellent. We had such a good time celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and we also renewed our vows. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience.

Parking was easily available and plenty and close to the check in office and the cruise terminal. Location was easy to find. Checking in was a breeze. Employees were very knowledgeable and efficient. We were greeted with a glass of wine and introduced to the captain with whom we took some pictures. Our 7 course meal was the best ever. We drink vouchers which took care of our party of party 6. Everything that evening was perfect. We made friends on the cruise. Will definitely do it again.
