"Awesome Experience"
August, 2016
My Road to Hana Tour was an awesome experience. The tour guide was very informative about the Hawaiian culture and history of the Island. I enjoyed actually seeing the waterfalls and people surfing, as oppose to seeing it on TV. I enjoyed the Black sand beach, and entering the cave. Seeing the Rainbow Eucalyptus tree was also an awesome thing to see.

"Truly an Adventure!"
April, 2015
We experienced our tour in a comfortable van with big windows for viewing the spectacular beauty along the way. Our guide shared Maui history, interesting current news, and about his experiences growing up in Maui. We were able to swim at a black sand beach, visit small
communities, walk to waterfalls (recommend water shoes for this), and, in general, have realistic interaction with life on the Road to Hana!

"SCAM - DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING"

SCAM COMPANY - DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THEM. They have taken almost $1000 from us when we booked for the Chief Sielu Luau. Then I received an email 22nd May saying that that Luau was no longer available and asked me to call them. I called them (from Australia at my expense) and she asked for the credit card details again so she could refund me and told me to book Paradise Cove Luau with another company, which we did at the same cost. However it no refund has been issued and after chasing them on multiple occasions they no inform me there is a ‘glitch’ with their bank where it will not let them refund to the credit card and they will issue a cheque instead which of course will bounce. They are offering all sorts of tours etc DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH DISCOVER HAWAII TOURS

The Bar for Tour Guides has reached it's HIGHEST Level if your Discover Hawaii Tour Driver is Areil- THIS Guy is AMAZING!! Each mile, each stop, Pearl Harbor, USS Bowfin Submarine, Battleship Missouri, Aviation Hangers, State Captiol of Hawaii, and lastly a beautiful serenade by Ariel on his ukulele made this Tour perhaps ALL TIME BEST EVER! Ariel's Love of Hawaii and it's people, culture, history and beauty has left a lasting mark- what a True Tourist wants when they get back home and folks ask "Tell me about your trip" I can smile and say "Mahoalo (Thank You) Ariel & his Aloha State is not just a place on the map, rather a Beautiful State in my Memory for it's People and Ohana (Family). You are Part of This Wonderful Family if you take this Adventure Tour with Ariel!

"2 tours, 2 different experiences"

We did 2 tours with Discover Hawaii. The first was the circle island tour (we originally booked the Ultimate circle island tour but this got cancelled and they put us on this one instead, which was fine). Our tour guide was Keith, and he was great. Friendly, knowledgeable and engaging - he made the day not only educational but a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed his (terrible!) jokes. He provided a lot of historical info as well as sharing some personal stories and this made his commentary really interesting and engaging. The tour itself was great - lots to see and many photos were taken. A fantastic day, I highly recommend it. Thank you Keith! Our second tour the next day was the Pearl Harbor & Historic Honolulu City Tour. Our guide on this day was a nice man but unfortunately his commentary was very scripted, almost robotic, and we found it quite difficult to stay engaged with what he was saying, which was a shame. He dropped us at Pearl Harbor and then later at the USS Missouri (the tour guide doesn't come with you to these but there's heaps of info/commentary at Pearl Harbor and a free 30min tour of the USS Missouri so the driver doesn't really need to be there) and we had ample time at both sites; both were a great experience. The guide then drove us through Honolulu and pointed out some historic monuments and buildings - this was good, however it would have been better if we'd had an opportunity to stop at least at a couple of them for photos. The view from the Punch Bowl Crater was amazing and 5 minutes to get out of the bus and take that in would have been great. Again, the driver's commentary was very scripted and several people in the bus were asleep. Still, I got to see some parts of Honolulu that I wouldn't have seen without the tour and I'd still recommend it, particularly for people who may be short on time and want to see as much as possible in one day.

We escaped from the terrible rain in Kauai early in the morning and weren't even sure if our flight would go to Oahu, but thankfully it did because we would have missed a wonderful tour otherwise! Keith was our guide and D.J. for the trip and we felt like we had made a new friend ! He was super knowledgeable and entertaining with stories and facts that gave us background about the places we were seeing. Loved the day! Mahalo from your Canadian friends !

"The booking people are a waste of Oxygen"

We booked a trip. They took the money. They found the trip offering had been cancelled several months earlier. They offered a refund. Good so far. One month later after returning - I note I have no refund. They offer a refund again - 7 days later still no funds I ask which account they refunded 3 times. Each time they just reply it may take a few days, they have refunded (but no hint as to who/where). Finally the refund is received. They NEVER apologised for forgetting the refund. If I had not checked - I guess it would have been too bad. I'd never book here again. Expedia was great and rebooked this trip for us with no dramas, they also booked a bunch more as a result.
