We had to go to Pearl Harbor being that we are all about history, but what an extra special moment to meet a Pearl Harbor survivor the day we visited. It was a great opportunity to learn more about what happened so many years ago and my husband & son also toured the Missouri while there. We signed up for tickets online 2 months in advance and when we got there, we were earlier than expected, but the guy at the desk offered to exchange our tickets to a trip over to the Arizona that was leaving in 10 minutes. It certainly helped us get more out of the day. They close at 5pm so make sure to go early and get all the time you can out of the day.

We toured the Arizona Memorial without actually stepping foot onto it. The Navy boat with it's 3 personnel were very informative and humbling. We saw a movie prior to taking the boat which explained just about all you would want to know about that fateful day and the events that took place.

Our family group of 6 (ages 12-73) enjoyed our visit. Even with the USS Arizona Memorial closed, it was well worth it. Entry and parking are free and includes looking in the museum at the visitor center and walking along the harbor. You can purchase audio tour if you wish. It’s all at a self-guided pace. We spent more time here than we expected. Don’t skip visiting Pearl Harbor.

What a day. Very long but worth it. A pity we couldn’t land on the Arizona memorial but such is life. USS Missouri was the high point. Best way to see everything is by getting the “Passport to Pearl Harbour”. You get to see everything. The tickets for the Arizona tour are free you just need to pick them up.

First, absolutely have to thank the desk person at our hotel who told us about the limited tickets each day through recreation.gov. We were able to get two tickets for the following day. We Ubered to and from with no issues and really enjoyed the museums. The tour and commentary were great. A little disappointed we couldn't go to the actual memorial (knew that beforehand), but definitely a must see.
