Second time here. A few things have changed (the flight museum has apparently been moved off property which was disappointing). Still have to wait 2-3 hours to get on the tour due to the tour groups always booking out the earlier slots. This trip we had a knowledgeable member of the military give us 10 minute brief at the monument talking about the Arizona and some facts you don't normally find out. Take time to pay your respects, A lot of souls rest below your feet. The tour is only 15 minutes in total, so don't waste it taking selfies. The smell of diesel still lingers after 75 years. A gentle reminder of how lucky we really are.

A part of the USS Arizona Memorial, an excellent movie presentation prior to the tour explains why the attack happened.

"It’s free! Don’t get ripped off"

Because we were jet-lagged, we woke up super early and decided to check out Pearl Harbor. Here's a tip! RENT A CAR. I'm looking at all these tours and they charge so much money. GUESS WHAT? Pearl Harbor is FREE!! That's right - FREE!!! So don't get ripped off. On the website, it says that they give away 1300 free tickets daily. Address: 1 Arizona Memorial Road Honolulu, HI. 96818 Type that address in and you'll arrive at the parking lot. They do not allow backpacks, purses, fanny packs, camera bags, luggage, diaper bags or shopping bags. Leave it in your car. OR check it in at their lockers - they charge extra but I'm not sure how much. Once you enter, grab a ticket. You will watch a 25 minute documentary (really interesting) and then you will take a free boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial (also free) and then you come back and then you can take a walk around. This place is open from 7:00am - 5:00 pm. First tour starts at 7:45 am and last tour is at 3:00 pm) It's a beautiful place to visit so spread the word and don't pay money to expensive tour companies.
