There is plenty to see here at Pearl Harbor national monument, easy to spend a few hours strolling around. We skipped the audio tour, and enjoyed the displays and history lesson. Some of the outdoor signs, displays need to be updated, as the words have faded from sun. What I found extremely odd was the gift shop, technically this place is a cemetery, would you buy souvenirs at a cemetery at home. Other people were on the phone, face timing with family on what to buy them. It seemed very off-putting and odd. We purchased tickets the day before we went to view the movie on USS Arizonia, book in advance, but if weather is bad the boats won't go to the memorial. My husband visited 10 years ago and was pleasantly surprised with the updated memorial. Great historical visit.

I highly recommend checking this out. I honestly didn’t care to but I’m happy I did. It’s very emotional and historical. Just make sure you get their early tickets sell out quick , you can try buying online but you have to buy in advance ! They are cheaper to buy at location , Third party’s charge you a lot more !

The Valor in the Pacific National Monument is a work-in-progress. The goal is to open sites on the north side of Ford Island to remember those who died aboard the USS Utah and the Oklahoma. They are simply a side-bar story to the sinking of the USS Arizona on December 7, 1941 at the moment. They will add reality and dimension to the magnitude of the attack, the extent of the destruction, and the loss of life when the other sites open. I, for one, am looking forward to a return trip to this Memorial to experience and gain a bigger perspective of the events!

We chose to book the ticket for the submarine, USS Arizona, battleship and aviation museum. You could spend days at Pearl Harbor, but we arrived early morning and stayed until about 3pm before we were burnt out. We did the submarine and museum first, then qued up for the USS Arizona and ate lunch before taking the shuttle over to the battleship. We skipped the aviation museum because we were so tired. Tickets are available online, so get them in advance so you don't miss out. You can't take bags in at all. Not a clutch, nothing, they all have to be checked, so leave them in your car, don't bring them at all or you can rent a locker onsite. There is food available and ample bathrooms throughout. Go expecting to spend the entire day at this history-filled, moving spot! It was one of our highlights of O'ahu.

Great place for a 1 hour visit. Very educational and interesting. Short movie and then off on a boat to visit the memorial. Rain or shine you go out. No need to buy a tour from a third party, just go to memorial and buy your tickets $50. They give the full tour. Absolutely no bags, ladies purses, backpacks allowed in there. Only what you can fit in your pocket. No storage lockers, only open bins if you happen to bring a prohibitive item. Leave belongings in your car.
