Excellent around the island tour which lasted about 8.5 hours and is well worth the money as you stop at so many great sites (my fav was sunset beach). John Junior the tour guide was great, he was very knowledgeable constantly giving us history and interesting facts along with a number of songs. Highly recommend!

"Two hour wait for no show guide plus no response till we got home!"

Reviewed July 22, 2016 NEW

My husband DID talk Discover Hawaii into giving us back all but the money for Pearl Harbor tix, but it took all day to get it AFTER we got home! We would have rather had the tour though! I booked my family of 19 a tour of Pearl Harbor and Polynesian Culture Center for the 1 day we were to be on Oahu after visiting another island. I booked Dis Haw Tours because Tripadvisor reviews were wonderful. I corresponded with "Reed" several times in the 5 1/2 months before, including calling Dis Haw the DAY before because Reed hadn't called me as they said he would. I was told not to worry; everything was fine. I made sure my 19 family members AND THEIR LUGGAGE were waiting in the lobby of the hotel at 7:30 sharp for a 7:40 pickup. At 7:42 I started calling Dis Haw to find out where our shuttle was. I was told someone would check and call me back. Fifteen minutes later, I called again and got the same runaround. I did this for 1 1/2 hours with no call backs. Then I got mad! The dispatch person told me our driver hadn't shown up; I asked why in 1 1/2 hours they hadn't sent us someone else; she told me I could cancel; I blew! I informed her that the ONLY reason we had come to Oahu was so my kids and grandkids could see PH and PCC! And they better get someone over to pick us up; give me her supervisior. Then I turned it over to my husband who got results in 30 more minutes. I can't say enough praise about Pat from transportation who loaded up our luggage, Keith from tour guides who left his party at PH to pick us up and take us to PH 2 1/2 hours late, and John Jr who became our tour guide after being pulled off of two other tours that day. John Jr. sang to us, took us to a great roadside lunch stop, Fumi's, and really tried to make our day happier. But the rest was a disaster! Dispatch people need to be fired! No one cared that we waited 2 1/2 hours and lost our chance to see PCC. My kids and grandkids will never be all together again with us at Oahu with the one chance to see PCC together! Basically, we waited 2 1/2 hours to see PH (great by the way), rode around the island, spent 45 min. at a coffee shop, saw 1 beach, spent 1 hour eating at a roadside food place, waved at PCC as we went by, ate ice cream in the 30 min. stop at Dole's (out of time), and went to the airport. I'm mad that John Jr didn't take us directly to PCC after we left PH even though I told him to. We left PH at noon and could have seen half of PCC at least before making our flight home. I'm mad that my husband didn't get to see his kids and grandkids' reaction to PH because he was afraid to leave our luggage with Dis Haw to transfer to the THIRD shuttle without us losing some of it. I'm mad that I got nowhere with Dispatch or Management (couldn't even TALK to management) but my husband could. I have to hope that Dis Haw Tours' management learned something from this, and no other families have to experience the frustration, helplessness, and disappointment my family experienced! km

"Great Day!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed July 19, 2016 NEW

We booked the Pearl Harbor and Circle Island Tour flying into Oahu from Maui for the day. What a great experience!! It was a long day having to be at the airport at 5 Am but well worth it. Our tour guide Keith made the experience so much fun. He was so informative and had so much to offer on a personal level. His stories were interesting and there was never a dull moment. He gave a brief history of Pearl Harbor before we arrived. Wish we could have a little more time there to do some shopping without rushing. The rest of the day was well planned with the most beautiful beaches and overlooks. So much better than I expected. Keith put so much into it. Discover Hawaii Tours is very lucky to have him as one of their tour operators. I went on other local Maui tours which were boring and robotic. Well worth it!!!!!
