Bus picks people up near their hotel. Our guide was Paolo, who was absolutely excellent. Not only did he explain the geology, he knew a lot of the history, agriculture, etc. He had made headbands for all the ladies by braiding palm reeds. We stopped at Nu'uanu Pali wayside and explained the history. It was a beautiful place with stunning scenery and lush vegetation. Waimea Falls is a way off the parking lot. There is a botanical garden along the way to the falls. You could pay to ride up in a golf cart. Once at the falls, they insist you wear a life vest if you want to swim. The way to the water is rocky and bumpy. Once in the water, the rocks are very slippery. Be sure to bring aquasocks or an extra pair of shoes. The water was in the high 60s F. Shocking at first, then very refreshing. After lunch, Paolo continued the tour along the North Shore. When we stopped at a surfing only beach, we had time to take pictures, read all the warnings, etc. Paolo brought out his guitar and sang some Hawaiian songs. He had a cooler of cold water and chocolate covered macadamia nuts he would bring out from time to time. The tour took almost 10 hours and included learning a few Hawaiian words, stopping at a fruit market, and too many things to mention. If you get Paolo for a guide you will be very lucky and have a great time!

We have taken The Grande circle island tour twice before and loved it, so we decided to do it again with a new visitor with us, and it was a huge disappointment. The bulk of the day consisted of time at Waimea Valley, which is a nice spot. But instead of the quality lunch on a private beach as advertised, we were subjected to a near disgusting turkey sandwich with two slices of pressed processed meat, cold fries and a bottle of water. Following this we spend more time during the rest of the day at various shopping places then we did at any other attraction. We had a full half hour at a tourist shop and only 20 minutes at the beautiful Valley of the Temples. The tour also advertises a maximum of 20 participants, and there were 25 of us crammed into the bus. I has been so looking forward to treating our new travel companion to the day, and by the end of it I was embarrassed. No were near with the $138.00 per person that we paid, this was our third and definitely last tour with this company.

We had Paolo as our tour guide. He was very friendly and gave all the ladies a headband and flower. He also brought chocolates for everyone and entertained us with his singing. Our first stop on the tour was Pearl Harbor. Then we drove around and looked at the beaches of the North Shore. We made several other picturesque stops at beaches and the blowhole. Lunch was at a ranch where they filmed Jurassic World and had vegetarian, fish or meat choices. My only complaint about this tour, which others may enjoy, is that I felt like there were too many stops at local shops and snack stands. I would have preferred more stops at island scenery. Overall I would recommend this tour as a great way to see the island of you're short on time as we were. FYI we got picked up in Waikiki at 6am and returned home around 6pm.

Nancy was beyond AMAZING! The tour itself was great but she added an attention to detail we couldn't have imagined. She was constantly helping us get great seating, trying new foods. Her energy was so sweet. She is a genuine good soul. We were glad to have met her. Mahalo 🌸🌺

Tour was great, our guide outstanding. Our only "complaint", since signing up and going on the tour, we have been deluged with spam cell phone calls. We had to give our cell phone number to Discover Tours prior to tour. Did they sell our number? Not sure, but we have not received these types of calls before.
