"Time of our lives."
July, 2016
The weather was a bit rainy, but the view was still amazing. I love that we were able to see the Na Pali coast in a way that you never see on the post cards. The water was too ruff in the 1st and 2nd snorkel spots but our fearless crew found us a safe place to snorkel. My daughter was able to go in the captains are and steer the boat, and learn about the boat. We ended the evening dancing on the deck till we made it back to port. I will be going on this cruise again next year when i return to Kauai.
Tip: If you get motion sickness take your meds before your get on the ship. I felt bad for the ones that did not feel well on the trip.

It was a great time. Our original date was cancelled due to a mechanical issue. We traveled out on April 23 with Captain Greg and his crew. The snorkelling was not perfect because of the swell, but we did stop and see lots of different fish and a couple of sea turtles. The crew has lots of information about the coast. We were too late in the season to see whales, but there was one spouting further out. The trip guaranteed to see dolphins and it didn't disappoint. We saw multiple pods. Some were no more than a metre from the boat. Spinning and jumping it was amazing. I would highly recommend the trip. I am prone to sea sickness and the trip was a little rough, but Dramamine did the trick.

I have done several dinner cruises and this is by far the best one I have ever done. Captain Kauai and his crew were funny, smart and extremely knowledgeable. The food was amazing, and they made sure there was plenty for everyone to eat and the drinks never stopped flowing. The Captain did an amazing job of welcoming everyone and the crew made everyone feel like part of the Ohana. By far the best dinner cruise I have ever done!

If you go on this trip purely for the snorkeling, you may be disappointed. But if you go to get out on the water, see the beauty of the Napali coast, see dolphins and whales (seasonal), and just feel happy in a beautiful place, you will be well rewarded. Our captain on the Lucky Lady, Jeff, was the perfect blend of informative and entertaining and made everyone feel at home on board. The snorkeling was at the beginning of the trip, which we all agreed we would have loved to do a bit further in so as we were all hot and wishing we could swim again later in the trip. The reef itself is a sight to see but we saw more fish right at the beach in Poipu. Overall, it was a great way to spend our morning and we would recommend it for sure!

We had a really great time on our boat ride along the coast well looked after by captain Greg and his friendly crew. With high winds on the North coast, we were warned that the ride might be a bit rough or "exciting" to use Greg's words, so we took some sea sickness tablets as a precaution and we were fine. As the ride started out with calm waters we stopped to snorkel early and saw plenty of fish and a few turtles. After a while we caught up with a large pod of spinner dolphins and then as the waves (as predicted) got a bit more excited got some amazing views of the beautiful Kauai coastline. Sitting in the top deck we got a bit wet but that added to the fun. Added to that some great commentary on the history of the island and the marine life too it was a really great experience that we'd recommend to others. You just have to expect that it might be a bit choppy and prepare accordingly.

We embarked as a group from a strip mall where their office is located. We were greeted at the Catamaran by our very congenial captain and 3 crew members. The captain suggested we leave our shoes in a shoe cabinet because he explained bare feet were best on the boat. As we left the inner harbor we could see bad weather ahead and we slowed as the captain announced we were waiting to see if the weather improved as we were encouraged to look for whales. lol and behold we saw what he described as a large hump back whale probably a female and a small one not too far away which he speculated may have been her calf. As we left the harbor we ran into a pod of dolphins who were frolicking like they were our paid entertainment. Really cool. As we made our way to the Nepali coast the sun came out and although they're was an occasional 3-5 foot swell it was a great trip. The crew served us a small bowl with an appetizer of pretzels, salami, cheese and crackers and a few grapes. About a half hour later we had a self serve line dinner consisting of salad ,fresh rolls, ginger chicken ,roasted vegetable and white sticky rice. Later in the trip our desert, cookies which were also good. They offered Mai Tai's,water ,soft drinks, beer and juices throughout the entire trip. For the 4 hour trip I believe it is well worth the price. I would suggest you take Dramamine,as I did, just to be sure you can tolerate the voyage. A few who thought they didn't need it regretted it and 4 hours is a long time when you're sea sick. I know they regretted it.
