from Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel
The 54-foot, nimble and fast power catamaran, Maui Magic, is truly a state-of-the-art vessel. Complete with all the comforts, the Maui Magic is equipped with BBQ grills, an onboard waterslide, ample seating, an awesome sound system and marine toilets. Although we are licensed for 71 passengers, we take only a small group of no more than 45 passengers per excursion for maximum comfort.

We dedicate this vessel to the Dolphin Discovery Adventure, which is a completely different experience than the ones of her sister ship (The Four Winds II). Wet and wild, multiple and exotic snorkel destinations and smaller groups are just a few things that make this trip unique. Not recommended for children (under 5), this trip is definitely for the adventure lover and thrill seekers. Safe and comfortable, this trip is like an ocean rafting excursion, but with all the creature comforts and amenities that rafts can not offer.

The Maui Magic features an upper deck, swim-steps, waterslide, multi-speaker sound system, boarding ramp, 400 gallon biofuel capacity, two marine heads, food and beverage storage and service, a full galley and wet bar, BBQ grill, 3 boarding ladders plus all USCG safety devices, satellite beacon, depth finder band and cellular communications.

"Great Boat for Snorkel/Snuba"

Our family of 4 enjoyed our trip on the Four Winds II. It was too rough the day of our tour to visit the scheduled Molikini Crater but were taken to an alternative spot that was good too. All of the crew were great, and you certainly will not go hungry at any time on board! We opted for the snuba gear ($$) and were very pleased we did so. We even swam alongside a sea turtle. Pictures available for a fee.

"Outstanding trip to Molokini Crater with whale spotting along the way"

I can't say enough good things about the captain! During the night before our trip, a wild storm blew through causing rough water. Since the visibility was so poor and the water so rough, the captain wisely cancelled the trip. There were some disgruntled people but who wants to go out when you can't see anything? We rebooked for a later day (which was still rough) and had an exceptional time. On the way to Molokini, the captain spotted whales and took us close enough to see them without disturbing the mother with her calf. Be prepared for some rough water. More than one snorkeler hurled in their masks and a few didn't make it off the boat. When the crew offer you home made ginger ale-drink it! It keeps sea sickness at bay.

My girlfriends and I booked an afternoon sail and had a fabulous time. The crew was friendly and professional and they even have a photographer who is able to photograph you underwater which make for great mementos of your time here in Hawaii. The food was even good which is rare on some of these excursions. This is a great way to experience being on a boat and snorkeling.

"Great half day adventure, fabulous snorkeling"

We went out on the Maui Magic captained by Charlene and her all girl crew. The boat was comfortable with plenty of space. At Molokini the water was so clear, it was amazing. Snuba was offered as a separate add on item ($60), which we think was quite reasonable. Unfortunately could not do that due to medical limitations, but it looked fun! Wetsuits were available for rent too ($5 each) which we did utilize, kept us warm and comfortable and allowed us to maximize our swimming time. After an hour at Molokini we came back to West Maui and went to Coral Gardens, a reef just off the coast for more snorkeling. A beautiful thriving reef with loads of different coral and close encounters with a number of sea turtles, not as clear as Molokini, but still fantastic. While we were snorkeling the crew got lunch ready which was a choice of burgers hot dogs etc together with sodas or beer and wine. On our return to the harbor, the crew came around with Mai Tais which were a nice surprise and cookies. The captain and crew were first class and we had a memorable and amazing day.

"Take the Four Winds II trip! It was excellent!"

We took this trip on a Friday. I highly recommend it and the Four Wind II. The crew is friendly, interactive and they go out of their way to personalize your trip. They really make sure that you have the right equipment and that you want for nothing. The lunch was excellent and there was way more than enough for seconds and thirds. The ride out is calm - the ship goes at a reasonable speed so no bumps. We sat on the front or bow of the boat, with our backs facing the ocean - and it was the perfect place to sit. We had plenty of room to move around and to put our stuff. (Don't make the mistake of bringing too much stuff. A towel, wear your bathing suit, sunglasses, and maybe a cover up or shirt for after the snorkel, and flip flops. Nothing else really necessary. The ship offers all kinds of options once on board - basic snorkeling, snuba, underwater cameras and Go-Pros, wet suit tops (if you get cold) etc. They have a ton of safety equipment - floatation belts for those timid swimmers, wet suit tops (to add buoyancy) etc. They even had prescription masks (at no extra cost) for those who wear glasses. Now, to the point - the snorkeling at Molokini - the BEST I've ever done. Again, something for everyone - gentle coves to deep water. Clear water, and amazing sea life. The crew gets in a posts "lifeguards" for added safety. Beautiful. We didn't rent an underwater camera - and sort of regret it in hindsight. I was tempted to snuba, but after watching the set up, I was glad that I stuck to snorkeling. I would make the decision re snuba after you arrive at Molokini and maybe even after you snorkel for a while. There is plenty of time for both. Lunch is served around 10:30 am - sounds early, but after the water - everyone was hungry. The open bar is just that - open and unlimited. The crew even walks around with cold beers in case yours is empty. Overall, it was a an almost perfect half day trip. Frankly, I was skeptical of doing the "cattle boat" tour - but this was not like that at all. I would do this same trip again tomorrow and will do it again on our trip back next year. The boat was not overcrowded and I sincerely can't think of anything they could do to improve it.
