"Don’t trust them!"

Booked the Pearl Harbour circle island tour months ahead through Hawaii Discount website. We all got up really early and turned up at the collection point well before the departure time and waited for the tour bus. 40mins later still no signs of the tour bus. The kind hotel bell boy helped us to contact the tour company and was told that our tour had been cancelled!!! We received no communications from them AT ALL! We couldn’t get ourselves to the destinations that we had intended to visit. The financial loss is a lot more than the costs of the tour! We flew over 8 hours spent thousands to be here and this was going to be the absolute highlight of our trip. The reason for the cancellation we were offered by Hawaii Discount was that the tour company wasn’t able to secure Pearl Harbour tickets?! But this is what they do! They couldn’t get tickets? I wonder how often they have led their customers down by being incompetent? Extremely disappointing to say the very least. We are angered by the appealing experience and urge all of you who is thinking of touring with them to take your business else where. We now have to pray that our hotel can help us get on another tour but given it’s now 8:16am, it’s highly unlikely.

I found our guide as one who tried to entertain us with mediocre humor instead of giving us historical information about the sites we visited. What is good about this tour is it picks us up at our hotels, gives us a feel for where and how the locals live, and gets us to Pearl Harbor with a nice side trip of Iolani Palace and the Hawaii Capital complex.

"Pearl Harbor USS Arizona and Circle Island tour"

We had an excellent tour. Pearl Harbor is a must for anyone who visits Hawaii. It is a big part of the history of our country. A very moving experience. Our driver and guide, Leo B, was excellent, so very knowledgeable about the island and history. It was great not to worry about standing in line for tickets at Pearl Harbor. Just do not do the buffet at the ranch. It was costly and the food was poor quality, like most food in Hawaii. The Dole stop was only a hurried in and out for a Dole pineapple whip, which was delicious. I highly recommend this tour.

"Road to Hana Coast Tour "

The Hana Coast is magnificent and seeing it is a great experience. However, this particular tour would be hard to recommend. The tour bus held 25 people and Polynesian Adventures packed 25 people into the bus. Moreover these folks came from all over the island including the airport, adding unnecessary time to the tour. Why not break the group geographically so that most of the time is spent touring? With that number of people, stopping along the tour in various sites was virtually impossible. Our driver while knowledgeable and a good driver, was not a very enthusiastic guide. Our tour became more of a very long bus trip rather than a tour. These tours are not inexpensive and I believe we had right to expect more. We have done other all day tours in this state and experienced much more superior experience.

"Cannot recommend"

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company. I booked two tours a month in advance -- the Big Island circle tour + airfare and the Pearl Harbor tour. When I called a day before the first tour to confirm, they couldn't find my booking, even though I had printed vouchers. I spoke to 3 or 4 people on the day, who told me to call back the next day (after my first tour was supposed to be happening). I called back the next day, and they still insisted that I didn't have a booking. I had to speak to another 4 people before I found someone who finally asked me to email the pdfs of my vouchers, and then suddenly they magically had my booking. But, it was too late and they couldn't give me either tour. So, they requested that I get a refund from Greyline, and they offered the chance to rebook the Pearl Harbor tour. They gave me a 25% discount on this rebooking, but only after I asked for it due to all the inconvenience I had incurred. Then, the day before the rebooked tour, they had the gall to call me on my cell phone, while I was on a tour with another company, to say that I hadn't paid for the rebooked tour! I had done, and I have the credit card statement to prove it. They did let me go on the rebooked tour, but they put a note in my file for the manager to call me the following week to resolve the payment dispute! I don't understand how this company stays in business. The tour itself was ok, but it was kind of a cattle drive, and the driver wasted a lot of time repeating instructions, making us stand in a group and wait, etc. I have been a Grey Line customer for 10-15 years, but I am no longer. I am probably going to be writing a long letter both to the local office and to the corporate headquarters about my negative experiences. The tour we were unable to rebook was the thing my husband most wanted to do in Hawaii, so I am naturally very disappointed.
