"Our Amazing Day Tour around the Island"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed January 15, 2019 NEW
We started off at 8.30 in morning at the pickup place on Seaside Avenue but had to change buses and drivers at the next stop as someone had complained we were late. No big deal to us though. Our new tour driver was a lot nicer than the first one and he was called Acee and was brilliant and informative all day. He told us he named his son Decee (true story!) It was a beautiful day for the tour and not too hot. These are the places we stopped at on our tour. Diamond Head, Kahala Resort, Hanauma Bay, Blow Hole, Makapuu Beach, Mac Nut Farm, Kualoa Ranch, Chinaman's Hat, Laie Town Shrimp Trucks, Sunset Beach. Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Beach. Chuns' Reef, Halewai Town and Dole Plantation. All the places we stopped at, we took photos and I can't remember which one was which as there were so many. We had lunch at Turtle Bay and decided to do the swim with Turtles as we had purchased on loan goggles and flippers on the way. We had no idea where the turtles were as there was no-one to tell us, so we just wandered down to the beach and looked to see where people were swimming. As I am a retired person, I found it very difficult to get to the water, as there were a lot of big sharp rocks to clamber over before you got to the sea where people were in pools. My daughter helped me and we finally got to the waters edge where there was a shallower pool going towards a bigger pool. But I was scared as there were more dangerous looking rocks beneath us and I thought at my age, if I couldn't keep afloat I would sink down to them and scrape my knees or legs on them so I opted out while my daughter swam around and saw fish but there were no turtles. Someone in the water told us then that they were more out to sea. So that was a big disappointment to us as we were looking forward to it. The best part was Macadamia Nuts at Kaneohe and the Dole Pineapple Plantation at Wahiawa. At the Macadamia Nuts farm we had free samples of different flavoured nuts so we bought a bag and ate them all on the way bag as they were so yummy! At the Dole Pineapple Plantation there were eating places inside and out, gorgeous pineapple ice cream sundaes and lots of things to buy at the store. A little train took you right around the whole plantation or there was also a smaller tour to do instead. We arrived back directly to our own hotel at 6pm which we did not expect. We thought we would have been dropped off where we started from. What a great tour operator.

My mother and I decided to do a tour around the island, Jordan sold us the tour on the streets, he was friendly, informative and we couldn’t say no as he made it sound great. Best value for money tour, had a fabulous day out, loved it! We had a substitute tour guide, his name was Acey (as pictured), best tour guide ever!!! So friendly, funny and informative. Highlights were the macadamia nut plantation and the dole pineapple factory. Low point was the snorkelling as no turtles and lots of dangerous rocks. Would definitely recommend this, best thing we did.

5 of us took this tour on 11/30/18 and our driver Jake made it an amazing trip. The tour was wonderful and Jake entertained us with his quick whit and many stories, which made the tour that much more fun. It was a nice way to get away from the city and see how beautiful this island really is. I'd take this tour with my Grandchildren too, as there was plenty for all of us to enjoy.

"Long day but learned so much it was worth every minute...."

We were thinking about renting a car to drive around the island but it was $200 for the day and for an extra $40 we could take the day tour which included lunch and a guide. I am so glad we did. Our driver / guide Wes was excellent and had such a huge amount of knowledge about the island. He had lived there all his life and been driving the tours for 34 years. The tour was great and it is a great way for new comers to get an understanding of what this island is all about. From Diamond head drive around, to Hanauma Bay (this is a day trip alone) The blow hole was unfortunately not blowing but was cool. Other highlights were the Kualoa Ranch ( again can do one day here), North Shoe Surfing beaches (unfortunately they do not stop here any more, this was disappointing). The Dole plantation was a great stop, could definitely spend a couple of hours here, BTW we looked at getting the Pineapple Split here and decided to only go with the waffle sunday, this was more than enough, I have attached a couple of pictures that will help you understand why not to do the split. Great tour, great guide, a definite must for first timers. Cheers Sensei
