Sculpted by nature for six million years, Kauai’s legendary beauty is epitomized by the Na Pali Coast – 14 miles of sea cliffs ascending 3,000 feet above the untamed shoreline, with sheer-walled valleys and cascading waterfalls—and sensational Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” Most of Kauai’s awe-inspiring sights are inaccessible from the ground and can only be seen by helicopter, yet not all helicopters are equal. To truly appreciate Kauai’s epic beauty, you have to experience it aboard a Blue Hawaiian Eco-Star.

You NEED to do a helicopter ride in kauai. This was such an incredible experience. Gregg was our pilot and he was fantastic! We saw the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World film locations, went up close to cliff and mountain sides, saw the cathedral. You can use your own camera which was great, they also record the whole ride for you and can be purchased for $41. Highly recommend this company! I usually get plane sick but I was kinda okay, for those with a sensitive stomach an anti-anti-nauseant aid may be needed. Oh and they even take a photo for you at the end in front of tha choppa!

Amazing way to see Kauai. Only 25% of the island is accessible by car so air or foot is the only way to see the majority of this island’s majesty. They show you the sites of many Hollywood filming locations the island is amazing. Blue Hawaiian came highly recommended, it’s very expensive. There is a military discount which is very good but still not cheap. Not sure how they differ from the many other helicopter tours on island (besides the fact they used their helicopter in the last Jurassic Park movie) but everything was very nice from the building to the helicopter. Pilot has done his research on his facts and actually corrected some “inaccuracies” you will hear on other tours.

You gotta make your Kaua'i stay epic. So what did we do? Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours. It was phenomenal with the best views that you are gonna see from up above. Marty was our helicopter pilot and he was awesome. We got to see our hotel from above. Our flight was truly spectacular. We were just amazed at the beauty and waterfalls galore on Kaua'i. The Na Pali Coast is breathtaking. I can't get enough of Kaua'i. I want to go back! Blue Hawaii Helicopters is awesome!

We took this trip while on Kauai. It was the highlight of our 12day trip on 4 islands. Our pilot, Scott H was skillful and an awesome guide. Highly worth the $250. You will see sights rarely seen by anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions about Blue Hawaiian Kauai Helicopter Tours

Do you make a video of our actual tour? How long is it?
Every flight is captured on a high-quality DVD. Each helicopter is equipped with four cameras; three external and one in the cabin. The video recording begins during the boarding process. On the video, you'll most likely first see yourself as you approach the aircraft for boarding. To orchestrate the most interesting video, the pilot chooses between the forward, side or internal camera as the flight progresses. The cabin camera, for example, usually shows you right after lift-off as it is so much fun to capture our guests’ expressions of amazement. The recording is continuous until landing and includes digital quality music chosen to complement the changing scenery, plus all the pilot's narration. The video is available for purchase right after you return from your flight.

What should we wear?
Our helicopters are temperature-controlled so dress comfortably but wear dark clothing to minimize any window reflections. If your flight includes a landing at higher elevations, bring a sweater in case it's chilly. Hats are not allowed to be worn around the helicopters as they can fly up into the rotors and damage the aircraft. We will be happy to hold any hats for you until you return from your tour.

Do you recommend taking anti-motion sickness medication?
If you are particularly prone to motion sickness, taking a precautionary anti-motion sickness medication is a good idea. However, our flights are very smooth and turns are slow and gentle. This is a professional scenic tour, not a thrill ride. Most people do not experience motion sickness and do not need an anti-motion sickness medication.

Will we be the only ones in the helicopter? How is seating arranged?
Unless you charter the complete helicopter you will be sharing the flight with other guests. We try to seat couples and families side-by-side as much as possible. We cannot guarantee particular seating as it is often dictated by our FAA approved “weight and balance” program. However, visibility from every seat is excellent in both our A-Stars and Eco-Stars, since there are no cabin partitions that would block part of the view as is the case on other types of helicopters.
