Wow! That is really all the wife an I can say. The memorial itself was amazing! Our guide Keahole (I apologize if that is not spelled correctly) was more than you could possibly ask for. We stepped on this bus at 8:00 am as promised, from that moment the tour began. Our guide was a local and one of the most knowledgeable persons I have met. He floored us with his stories and facts about Pearl Harbor and native Hawaii! I sure hope I spelled his name correctly because I really want him to know his level of excellence!

"A Day At Pearl Harbour - Not What Was Promised"

We knew we were in store for a long day with this tour from Maui but were prepared and excited. Unfortunately the day did not meet our expectations beginning with poor instructions regarding where to meet our Tour at the Airport, a grumpy driver to Pearl Harbour and finding out when we arrived that no boats were going to the Arizona. This was a very expensive tour especially taking into consideration the currency exchange for us and we weren't able to get to the Arizona. No apology - no partial refund - nothing. The Bowfin, Missouri and Aviation Centre were interesting with very informative tour guides. The timing for the day was off - not enough time on the Missouri - too much time waiting for pick up to the airport from downtown Honolulu (1.5 hours) as well as waiting for our flight home (3 hours). We were handed off to three drivers during the day - no light breakfast or lunch included as stated on the brochure and barely time to purchase and eat a meal during the day. Unfortunately the most expensive and least enjoyable excursion during our stay.

I had been told that this was the trip to take on Maui. We booked this a few days before we left. Our driver, Stan, arrived in a very comfortable Mercedes touring van. He was a super driver and was very helpful as we drove around the island. He had a personal touch that was really special. He showed great love and pride for his home. He told many stories of history and legend that makes a tour like that special. He told us where to go at stops and things that would make the tour more interesting. We had a blown tire at the fall on the dirt road and Stan hooked us up with another van in minutes. Much love for Discover Hawaii Tours.

Our tour guide was Nancy and she was excellent. She was very informative and full of island knowledge and history. I was with my brother who is developmentally delayed, so he's a little hard to deal with at times. However, Nancy was excellent with him and never seemed bothered by his multiple questions. She did her best to keep us on schedule even when a few travelers tended to stray off.
