The day begins with complimentary pick-up between 3:00 and 3:30AM via an exclusive, 6 to 8 guest, Luxury Limo-Van. To capture all the beauty that is Sunrise at Haleakala, we travel directly to Haleakala National Park and the crater summit. Start the day, “on top of the World. “ Continental breakfast is served, prior to sunrise.

“First Light” reveals a pallet of golden pastel hues plus a 360 degree view encompassing the Big Island of Hawai’i, West Maui, Lana’i, Moloka’i and beyond. The “House of the Sun” visitor’s center, offers breathtaking panoramas from the rim of the Crater. There are numerous photo opportunities while descending this mountain drive. Guests learn, in-depth, about the native Hawaiian people, their culture and land from an entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide.

Complementing to this invigorating experience is a run-of-the-menu breakfast at a charming Upcountry restaurant.

During this memorable day, guests also have a chance to visit an Upcountry protea farm, to see these ancient and exotic flowers. There are over 1500 types of protea, 90 of which grow on Maui. Protea thrive in the cool, dry weather. The majority of protea grow on the southwestern facing slopes of Haleakala. These long lasting beauties were a favorite of French empress Josephine, (Napoleon’s wife), and might capture your heart as well. Returning at a “Maui-style” pace, takes us through the vibrant agricultural region of Upcountry Maui.
